NON-FORMAL EDUCATION CENTRE

Non-formal Education Centre, opened in order to provide vocational courses with non-formal education programs for students who do not consider proceed in their formal education and intend to get an employment, was established upon the Cooperation Protocol, signed between the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Education and our University in 1998. The centre served in the building near Turkistan Health College during its first years of establishment, and it was later transferred to Kentau.

The aim of the courses at Non-formal Education Centre is to provide students with vocations with non-formal education programs, and to train qualified staff in the required fields of vocations.

There have been 2500 trainees in the branches of carpet-rug, and tricot weaving, handicrafts, garment industry, computer training, hairdressing, wood processing, sanitary installation, welding, and electricity. Since 2009, courses on Motor and Furniture have been also added to the programs. There is also Turkish course in the centre.

All these vocational education programs are free-of-charge, and graduate trainees receive certificates, as well as “Certificate of Appreciation” is given to the successful graduates.

 Graduate students from our centre are employed in the cities like Astana and Almaty. The centre has provided almost 2000 trainees with vocation.

Turkish Cooperation and Improvement Agency (TIKA) also supports our centre.

Apart from Kazakh instructors, there are also Turkish instructors, assigned by the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Education, to serve in our centre.
